Casey and I finished our Google Developers Challenge (GDC) application and uploaded it. Actually, the first round of rating has finished. The GDC has several categories and they pick winners in each category, which is what just happened, then they put all the winners from each category together and have a best-in-show-type judging. We don't know yet how we did in the first round or if we're moving on to the second, but we're hopeful.
Our application is called Goings On! (yes the exclaimation point is part of the title! Lol!) and it allows you to seach for events based on several criteria such as location and type of event. The idea is that you can save a default search and wherever you go in the world when you get off the plane you can fire up Goings On! and it'll find your location and load your default search criteria and help you find things to do that you would enjoy. It also lets you set an area, so if you have a trip coming up you can set the location and time frame of your trip and search that way. I think it's pretty cool! I did a lot of the user interface artwork and came up with the overall design and Casey made it work as slick as it looks!
When the GDC is over, which should be some time in November, Goings On! will be available for purchase in the Android Market.
